Soil Sites and Learning Activities û Lab: Practice student activities dealing with motivation and collection of samples around their homes; Demonstrate inquiry activity called "Just Passing Through" and develop concepts of soil and hydraulic properties.

Soil Characterization û Field: Groups sample pits and auger cores; Identify soil color, structure and consistence; start pH and NPK analysis

Soil Characterization û Lab: groups investigate soil bulk density and texture and complete activity to understand particle size distribution.

Soil Moisture and temperature û Field: Review and practice sampling protocols for soil moisture and temperature; measure Infiltration.

Computer Visualization and Analysis û Computer Lab: Practice extracting data from the archive, graphing, cross-plots and comparing point or map data.

Implementation issues û Lecture/Discussion: Examples and activities to get started; Seasons and other integrative activities.

Hydrology Activities and Calibration û Lab: Introduce watershed concepts and practice sample calibrations. Discuss data quality and interpretation of physical processes. Do simple tests such as Temp. pH, Conductivity.

Hydrology Protocols û Field: Groups rotate through Dissolved Oxygen, Tubidity, Nitrate measurement stations; work together on Macroinvertebrate diversity index.
